COVID Latest Update January 2023

It is no longer mandatory to self-isolate at home if anyone in your family tests positive to COVID-19. If your child has symptoms or has tested positive to COVID-19, Queensland Health strongly recommends they:

  • stay home to isolate until they no longer have acute respiratory symptoms and have gone for at least 24 hours without a fever

Thank you for your support with this.

Covid-19 Update 22.02.2022

The Premier has today announced significant changes to Queensland’s current face mask restrictions and other COVID-19 measures in a variety of settings from 4 March.
Face masks will not be required in most settings, including schools, from 6pm on Friday 4 March.
The changes apply to all workplaces, schools and shops. Hospitality staff and patrons won’t be required to wear masks at cafés, pubs or restaurants. Masks are still required on public transport, in hospitals, disability care, prisons, aged care, airports and planes.
The restrictions that were applied as part of the back-to-school plan for Term 1 2022 will also be removed.   All visitors (including contractors) are able to return to schools.
Density limits will be scrapped in indoor settings including gyms and private venues.
Covid-19 statistics will be published each day, but daily press updates will be scrapped from the first weeks of March. Further detail about these significant changes will be communicated as they are published.

COVID-19 FAQs for Parents

COVID Update 11th February 2022

First and foremost, we express our thanks for the parents who are assisting us to work within our COVID Restrictions. This has meant minimal parents on site and ensuring that all people onsite are wearing a mask. These regulations continue at this stage for the next 3 weeks and we will notify the community if and when these dates/restrictions change.

We have received our full supply of Rapid Antigen Tests and as per our previous information, should a staff member or student develop symptoms while at school, we will send them home with a test to then follow the QLD Health Guidelines appropriately.

We have also distributed children sized masks to each class and remind families that the QLD Health does recommend students in Year 3-6 wear masks appropriately. Our supply of masks is not infinite, so we do ask that if you are encouraging your child to wear a mask you assist with the supply available to them. At this stage the wearing of masks is a recommendation and staff have no authority to enforce it.

We do ask that all families continue to monitor symptoms closely and inform the school should the family be required to isolate due to positive tests or close contact regulations.

Again, thank you for your support during this time and we pray you are staying safe and positive as we navigate through this interesting term.

Regards,

Michael Ball
