Mater Dei Spring Fair 2023
Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered at our recent Spring Fair. There were a lot of happy children due to your efforts! School Fairs are complex things to organise with so many moving parts and we appreciate anyone who was able to help make our fair a success. A special thanks goes to Amy Dampney, George Carroll and Lyn Wegner for their efforts in coordinating the entire fair!!
As we review our recent Fair we are asking the Mater Dei parent body for feedback. Is there something you would like to see at our fair? Or is there something that you think could be done differently, then we want to know. Could any feedback please be sent to MATPandF@twb.catholic.edu.au
The aim of our school Fair is for a family fun day. If you have any suggestions for an alternative event then please also email us your suggestions.
Looking forward to 2024 our main parent event will be “The Long Lunch”. The date has been set but we are on the hunt for a coordinator. If you would like to play a part in coordinating this event please register your interest by emailing MATPandF@twb.catholic.edu

Spring Fair - Ride Arm Bands & Crackerjack Dinner Packs
The Spring Fair is fast approaching! Please purchase Ride Arm Bands via Flexischools.
- $45 early bird price ends Wednesday 25th October 2023 @ 5pm
- $55 on the day
Ride Arm Bands include a free sausage sizzle, drink and ice block!
Individual ride tickets can be purchased on the day.
Dodgems and Skyflyer will be $10 each.
Giant Slide and TeaCup will be $5 each.
Crackerjack Dinner Packs are also available to order via Flexischools.
We are looking forward to a fun day for all.
Spring Fair - Volunteers Needed
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Our fair committee is in need of two more stall coordinators - Dunk Tank and Arm Bands/Ticket Sale (role descriptions below).
DUNK TANK
- This person will need to man the Dunk Tank from 1pm-5pm (and/or organise others to help in shifts).
- Organise volunteers and roster for the Dunk Tank – I believe Mr Ball is keen!
- Fill up the Dunk Tank the morning of the Fair
- Ensure the kids stay in a line, take turns and behave.
RIDE ARM BAND DISTRIBUTION & STALL TICKET SALES
- This person will need to sit at the Ride Arm Band and Stall Ticket Sale tent from 12:30pm-5:00pm (and/or organise others to help in shifts) and hand out/sell Ride Arm Bands
- Vouchers for Drink, Ice Block and Sausage Sizzle (they will be in envelopes ready to hand out with Arm Band)
- Sell Tickets for the Stall – 4 for $10

We would like to thank everyone for a great night at our recent Trivia Night, especially our sponsors E&E Waste and NRG and to all the businesses for the prize donations.
There were lots of tough questions, lots of great costumes and a whole heap of laughs.

P&F Update Term 2
P&F Meeting
A reminder that we have our P&F Meeting on Monday 24th April 2023. It will start at 6:30pm and we meet in the staff room. All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.
Clothing Pool
Our volunteeers have very generously offered more time to open the Clothing Pool. As well as the alternating Monday and Wednesday mornings, the Clothing Pool will now be opened Thursday afternoon from 3:00pm to 3:30pm every week.
Mother's Day 2023
The P&F will again be hosting the Mothers Day Breakfast this year before our school liturgy. This will be held on Friday 12th May. More details will follow in regards to this.

2023 P&F Update
The P&F would like to welcome all Families and staff back for the 2023 school year, we hope everyone had a nice relaxing break. We especially extend a warm welcome to any new members of the Mater Dei community.
The Mater Dei P&F meet on the 3rd Monday each month, at the school office at 6.30pm.
The next meeting is on the 20h Feb and all parents are most welcome to attend.
Our first social event of the year is a welcome BBQ to be held after school on Thursday 16th Feb. 3.30 until 5pm. This is a great chance to catch up with other parents and to welcome the new families so please come along.
We are currently seeking someone to act as a class coordinator on the committee to help with communications with each of the class representatives. This year we will be holding our biennial school fair. Each of the year groups usually manage a separate event or stall at the fair and as such we are seeking expressions of interest for parents from each age group to help coordinate this.

This year we will be opening on alternative mornings to give people more options to be able to pop in and see us.
