Mater Dei in the community

MaterDei Feb23-43

Mater Dei is well known in the local community and enjoys strong links with local kindergartens and high schools. Mater Dei students excel in representative sport and actively participate in local arts events.

Students and teachers proudly represent the school at Anzac Day services with their families and you will often see our students performing at the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

The broader community is invited to join us for the annual School Fair and Open Day.

International connection to St Jude’s School Tanzania

Mater Dei has a long-standing connection to St Jude’s School in Tanzania.

After sponsoring our first child, Solomon, through his entire schooling, we now sponsor Careen, a nine-year-old at the Sisia Primary Campus. Careen is from the Mrangi tribe and regularly corresponds with the school.  Sharing her experiences provides our students with a global view of world events and issues.

Our Year 6 students organise fundraising events including Go Green for Careen and Get Beanie Keen for Careen. These are schoolwide initiatives and money raised goes towards sponsoring Careen’s education.
